Tritec Marine completes multi-vessel LNG shipbuilding project
21 October 2025
A major multi-vessel shipbuilding project overseen by Tritec Marine has been completed in South Korea with all vessels now under Northern Marine Management’s (Northern Marine Group sister company) stewardship.
The LNG Carrier ‘HL Puffin’ is the fourth and last vessel owned by H-Line Shipping to be built as part of the project following the previous delivery of sister vessels HL Alyssa Warner, HL Edward Austin and HL Sea Eagle.
All 174,000 m3 vessels are now managed by Northern Marine Management (NMM) and operating globally in the transportation of Liquefied Natural Gas.
George Mermiris, General Manager and Director, Tritec Marine said: “The latest successful deliveries of HL Sea Eagle and HL Puffin mark the completion of a multi-vessel newbuild programme, carried out under Tritec Marine’s supervision in Korea and Glasgow.
“It has taken a high level of technical competence, collaboration, and dedication from our shipyard site team to bring all four vessels safely into operation under Northern Marine Management.
“We are proud to have played a key role in supporting H-Line Shipping’s LNG transportation capabilities and to have worked alongside NMM in delivering these vessels into safe and effective service.
“This project stands as a testament to what can be achieved through strong partnerships and unparalleled commitment to quality.”
John Cook, Ship Management Director, Northern Marine Management, said: “Our Northern Marine Group colleagues in Tritec Marine have commendably delivered four high-efficiency LNG carriers on schedule and without any incidents or injuries to our construction supervision team.
“These vessels are equipped with advanced propulsion and environmental systems, including dual-fuel engines, LNG sub-cooling, and hull air lubrication, which align with our commitment to safe, sustainable, and efficient operations.
“We look forward to working closely with H-Line Shipping to optimise performance, uphold the highest safety standards, and contribute to the global energy transition through responsible LNG transportation.”
An H-Line Shipping spokesperson said: “This achievement has been made possible through close cooperation with the Korean shipbuilding industry and strong partnerships with Tritec Marine and Northern Marine Management.
“Going forward, H-Line Shipping will continue to pursue safety, environmental responsibility, and quality-driven management, fulfilling our role as a responsible player in the global energy transportation sector.
“Equipped with the latest environmental technologies, these four LNG carriers will not only support the industry’s decarbonization goals but also provide our customers with safe and reliable energy transportation services.”
